Fit Foods

Rather than labeling most foods as "good" or "bad," think of what amount of the foods you like can fit into your overall healthy diet.

While "junk" foods have fewer nutrients per calorie, you can have a small amount once in a while to satisfy your craving, you will want to choose foods that you eat over a period such as a week that average out to the calories your body uses during  that time. Think about eating foods higher in fat, salt and sugar on a limited basis to make sure that they are a small part of your overall diet. For instance, eat them only at certain times of the day or choose smaller portions. Another idea is to eat less before or after a higher calorie food or take an extra walk every time you indulge.
